English 9: (1st, 6th hours)-

CLT: Students will demonstrate knowledge of 10 Nouns Activity and gain knowledge of To Kill a Mockingbird

1. 10 Nouns Activity – introduce partner

2. Begin To Kill a Mockingbird – chapter 1 due Tuesday

3. Watch short introduction videos, read start of chapter 1 together, hand out reading schedule and logs (logs will be completed during class time, not for homework)

HW = parent information sheet turned in by Friday, 9/6, chapter 1 TKaM

English 12: (3, 4, 5th hours)

CLT- Students will begin to formulate a definition of college and career readiness.

1. Letter from English 11 teacher due

2. Read articles (annotate) and add 2 main points to bottom.

3. After reading/annotating, explain what each article teaches you about the idea of college readiness.

4. Turn in parent exam letter and/or parent information sheets if you have them.

HW = information sheet due by Friday 9/6, letter due Thursday
